In June 1986, the Boston Celtics franchise was elated to select Maryland basketball star Len Bias with the second overall pick of the NBA Draft. Less than 48 hours later, the 22-year-old was pronounced dead is dorm suite after suffering cardiac arrest due to cocaine overdose.

The NBA draft is unpredictable. The selections can make the difference between a lottery team and a dynasty. After the young player’s death, the Celtics franchise wallowed in two decades of mediocrity before rising to the top of the NBA in the 2008 season. Though they haven’t won the championship yet this year, they look poised to make a run with the combination of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.

Puma and No Mas have teamed up to create the Puma First Round LE x No Mas - The Lottery. The black on black kicks feature embroidered lottery balls, a RIP message on the collar and “the Lottery” on the inner tongue. The triple laces in gold, black and green are sweet. Using Celtic green accents, these limited shoes are sure to be coveted in the Boston area.

They will drop exclusively at BODEGA Boston on Monday, March 17th - St. Patrick’s Day in very limited numbers. If you are a Celtics fan, try to cop these shoes. Via Sneaker News.
