Nike “Ultimate Glory” Dunk Hi - #1

The Nike “Ultimate Glory” Dunk Hi is inspired by the 1996 boxing match between boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez and Oscar De La Hoya. This shoe honors both fighters by imprinting their names on the heel (Chavez on the left and De La Hoya on the right). This boxing match, deemed “Ultimate Glory,” captured the attention of the boxing world as the Golden Boy took on the one he idolized - the Patron Saint of Mexico. The WBC Jr. Welterweight world title fight lasted 4 rounds, ending with Chavez’ blood everywhere. De La Hoya defeated him soundly and cut Chavez’s eye and broke his nose in Chavez’s 100th professional fight.

The shoe is comprised entirely of the blood red elephant print. On the tongue is an “Ultimate Glory” woven tag. The sneakers are a Mexico Exclusive. They will be released at the Nike Sportswear store in Mexico City on October 3rd with a pre-sale beginning on September 26th at the same location.

Only 606 pairs will be available to the public. High Snobiety says that rumor has it, signed versions will be available on the release day. If you are a big boxing fan and love red shoes, these are definitely for you.
