Artist Gabriel Dishaw, specializing in metal work, has brought Sneakers Art a notch higher in his two Nike-inspired Junk Art masterpieces…Presenting the “Junk Dunks” and “Frankenstein Terminators”. Again, his ingeniuity worked as he made use of “junk” like scrap metal and spare computer parts to create these sculptures. The (5lbs.)“Junk Dunks,” are made of random everyday parts like sheets of metal, gears, wires and circuit boards. For his (8lbs) second pair which sports a classic high-top silhouette, he worked around the concept of Frankenstein or the cannibalized Terminators. It took him over a month to produce the whole package which this time includes not just the shoes but also the shoe box, the label, the diagram and the shoe tags. I’m totally in awe viewing the intricate details he put into these two masterpieces. You can check out http://gabrieldishaw.com/sculptures.html for more infos and photos
