New Balance M1300NR in US Navy Colors

New Balance 400 From UK to NYC

 

New Balance 400 has finally reached the Big Apple which is known to be a racing shoe for men and was only made available for a long time in UK alone. It is made up of suede and nylon uppers that come with sporty and bright yellow colors with the exterior in blue and the patent N logo with its heel tabs. It will be released in the Scoop NYC store by February 2.

New Balance 574 Lux Suede in Grey and White

This pair of New Balance shoes is what closed out the year of 2011. It has clean suede uppers and made out of lux suede. Its leather is smooth to the touch and the brand appears on the midfoot section. White and grey are what’s seen on its low part or the outersole. It also has the signature cushion of New Balance that is ABZORB that renders extreme comfort and absorption from shock.

New Balance ML581 x Mita Sneakers

New Balance introduced this model and collaboration as a runner especially meant for the winter too. This is very laid back and makes it all the better with a strong collaborative partner in Mita. It is made in neutral tan and some creams with a white mesh for its toebox. It of course does not miss out on the N branding. It has premium leather lining.

New Balance

Bay Area Kicks is proud to have New Balance as one of the major shoe brands that we feature and have one major category of. From its humble beginnings to its present releases and updates, we cover everything there is you need to know about the New Balance Athletic Shoe. The entire company started in 1906 in Belmont, Massachusetts. The brainchild of the company is an English immigrant called William J. Riley who was a 33 year old waiter. The company started out as a company that made and sold shoe accessories and various arch supports that came in a triangle shape that looks like a chicken foot. The originator thought it well that this shape gives off the most ideal balance.

The entire company moved forward still when he hired a salesman by the name of Arthur Hall and this person became a partner after seven years. This expansion pushed the company to prosper more and by 1956, a share of the company was sold to Eleanor Kidd and Paul, her husband. For most parts of the 20th century, while they were still not famous, their presence went on through their solid credibility of orthopedic shoes built on high quality craftsmanship.

We also learned that by 1960, New Balance began making special footwear that is designed particularly for running and baseball which was called the Trackster. This was considered an ingenious shoe which was one of the first to feature a rippled sole along with a variety of widths made available. It soon turned out to become one of the most popular shoes amongst students that became a part of the YMCA programs and adapted by various college track teams as well. Some of these track teams were the Boston University and the MIT for their cross country teams for running. Sooner then, other schools from across America began to quickly follow.

However, outside the school teams’ market, the sales were not really doing well. The company was sold again and its current owner who is Jim Davis bought it in 1972 on the very same day of the Boston Marathon. When the company was purchases, there were just 6 workers that produced 30 shoes a day for mail orders done and for some stores. Davis and his wife were committed to maintain the credibility of the company by offering amazing customer service and products that are made of the top quality. This commitment paid off when Boston turned out to becoming the middle of the running craze that became the epitomy of the Boston sports world.

The company grew more with the coming in of more orders and they were also able to expand the product line. As their sales went up, the Davises also started to realize that they can turn New Balance into the global level. So what makes New Balance a lot different from the rest of the huge competitors in the industry today? One is that they have a manufacturing warehouse in the US and another in UK too. The production made in the UK somehow reaches around 30% of their shoe sales in the European continents. They would also remain to be one of the few shoe manufacturers who get to produce shoes in a variety of widths.

After their Trackster shoe, they did not have any other shoe model that had a name for all their shoe designs and models only came with numbers as the name. We think that this was executed to display that every shoe really follows religiously the philosophy of the New Balance and that each has received a similar amount of care and attention. And to think that they do not always spend a lot on marketing, advertising and even other advertisements when endorsed with the popular athletes.

Their steering away from spending so much on the luxurious athletes and advertising campaigns came from their not so pleasant partnership with the previous LA Lakers MVP James Worthy. In 1985, they tried their own version with a promotional contract that was even worth a million dollars. But still, New Balance was not able to keep up with the leading footwear brands like Adidas and Nike when it came to the advertising campaigns and sponsors. Due to lack of funds, it turned out to become even more successful with New Balance moving on with the brand new slogan called Endorsed by No One. They made releases of the Worthy shoes which were called as 740s, 640s, 785s, 790s, 991s, and 999s but this time they had no signature of the basketball icon on each of them.

Up to this day, BAK continues to support New Balance as it still remains to be a strong company and is still very popular for their being able to produce very comfortable shoes. New Balance shoes are perfect for casual walking, running and even aerobics. Hence, we always take worthy note of their every shoe model and we try our best to always made good reviews about them. Today, the New Balance brand still makes a wide variety of sneakers for even more various uses from the usual running and walking shoes and now with hiking boots and basketball shoes. To date, they also own other companies such as PF Flyers, Warrior, Brine, Aravon and Dunham.
