You just cannot beat a good old fashion shoe like Converse’s Chuck Taylor All Star Sneaker. It is an all American original that is never lacking in popularity. My twelve year old grandson, when asked what shoe he would buy if money was not an issue, said hands down it would be the The Chuck Taylor All Star. He said, “Grandma, I already have two pairs, one for good and one for school.” Now that is a character reference!
Converse created the first basketball shoe, and in 1923, Chuck Taylor teamed up with Converse to help develop a shoe that would not only improve their design but one that would improve the level of basketball. For most of his life, Chuck Taylor as the Ambassador of Basketball for Converse, would travel across the country inspiring young people, giving basketball clinics, and expressing his love of the game and Converse.
In 2003, Nike bought the failing company and added their own flair and style to the shoe with bold new colors and materials. With a durable canvas upper and the rubber sole, the All Star will always be a hands down favorite.
