The Air Jordan 17 was released February 9, 2002 and was the first sneaker released since Jordan’s 2nd come back on the NBA but this time around playing for the Washington Wizards. Wilson Smith III once again designed the Air Jordan XVII and it has been claimed that one essential element to the AJ17 was from Jazz tunes. And if you in fact look closely on them, you will notice some molding in jazz notes. An additional inspiration was yet again from a car this time being an Aston Martin and the soles have been said to come from a golf course Michael Jordan loved playing at.
What made the Air Jordan 17 far more fascinating is it arrived with a Jumpman embossed metal carrying case that serves as its shoe box. Other features include a removable mid-foot strap, Zoom Air sole, dynamic-fit sleeve, concealed quick lace system, lace-locks, leather uppers and carbon-fiber sheath. Not to mention the price tag for the AJXVII is $200 which was the highest ever before for a pair of Jordans.
